Along the Columbia River, Wenatchee to Lake Chelan

Savor Central Washington encompasses ag and culinary destinations on both sides of the Columbia River as you travel between Chelan and Wenatchee.

The drive is lovely, with scenes like this (above) featuring a steel sculpture dedicated to enhanced salmon habitat.  “The Chief” was created by indigenous artist Virgil “Smoker” Marchand and sits proudly on a knoll in Beebe Springs Natural Area just north of Beebe Bridge.  Walk the trails and be on the lookout for wildlife.

Besides numerous species of birds, you'll find swim beaches on the Columbia all along the drive:  Entiat, Walla Walla Point, Orondo River, Beebe Bridge and Kirby Billingsley Hydro Parks.  Also expore Daroga, Lincoln Rock and Wenatchee Confluence State Parks.  Picnicking and overnight camping opportunities are available based on season.
